Re: How Much Does A Typical Weeding Cost?

I am planning a wedding for June of 2007 and due to my course load in college these days we opted to get everything planned very early. I dont know what state you are from, but in Illinois, we are having a wedding for 200-250 and it is running right at 10k. This isnt in our back yard either! We are holding the wedding and reception at a very very nice winery and vineyard in our area. We found it to be cheaper to find a reception site that also handled the catering as well, we saved almost 2k that way, when we chose to do things this way they cut the reception costs almost in half. We chose their house wines which we got at whole sale prices and saved ourselves a bundle. The earlier you plan things the cheaper you will get them. Our cake is about $3 a slice and our plates of food including linens, china and a prime rib dinner and H`ourderves was only 17 a plate with children under 10 free. If you do the flowers yourself and dont go too outlandish with your photography purchases 1200- 1400 (in our area) you save yourself thousands. Hope this helped.
