Dont Get The Depo Shot!!

Please! Dont do it!! I got the shot on May 2 and it is now July 7 and I am still bleeding!! I keep telling my doctor that he needs to do something about it and he doesnt pay any attention to me. I read that all the doctor needs to do is give you estrogen pills to stop the bleeding. I called him up and told him what I found out and all he said is that the bleeding is normal and I just have to wait it out. Now I figured look. I am paying all this money for health insurance, if I know what will work and you know it also, for my satisfaction, just give me the medicine! I just found the man of my dreams and we cant have sex because my body is malfunctioning and I just wont seem to stop bleeding. Not to mention that I gained 15 pounds in 2 months and I eat like a pig now. I have constant cramping, my hair is falling out in chunks, I am always tired, and I get mad for every single little thing. I would rather get pregnant and have another kid than to have to go through that again.

You need to get off of it fast!! I had my first shot the beginning of September 2003, of course I was on my period when I got it, I bled from September 2003 thru April 2004 when I had to have an emergency D&C because I could not stop bleeding.I had gotten a shot in September,December, and March. I had lost so much blood that I was in a hospital or a week trying to get my blood levels and hemoblobin to normal. It was a horrible experience!! The doctors and the manufacturing company Provera gave me the B.S. That not bleeding at all is normal and bleeding the whole time is normal. They stated that I was just that 1 in upteen million people that had a bad side effect. They could not figure out why they could not stop my bleeding or why it was making me bleed so heavily, my body either rejected the hormone or had a bad reaction to it. I had the surgery to remove all the blood. The bleeding stopped which is a good thing, but unfortunately I haven`t been able to get pregnant again. Please do not take another shot!!! It is not for everybody and I do not wish anyone to go through what I went through. I hope this helps.
