Chair Covers And Disguises

Greetings all!

We`ve finally found a fairly inexpensive place to have our reception. The primary drawback (in addition to it NOT being the fancy $29 per person hotel with the gorgeous view that we first looked at), is the God-awful blue plastic chairs.

I`d like to think that we can transform this place, including a good disguise for these chairs (without spending gazillions on renting OTHER chairs). What`s the story with chair covers, are they good things to work with ? Horrible things? Are there better ideas out there? What about decorators, are they worth it? HELP!!

Thanks,

Kimberly

Hi brides,
Yes, chair covers do make a world of difference! I was asked by a bride to make chair covers and so Uniquely Yours was started! Check out our website at www.uniquely-yours.biz and see what is possible! Also, I can e-mail you the before and after pictures of chairs using chair covers. Let us know what you think!

Greetings...

Can you tell me where your company is located? Your website doesn`t seem to tell even what country you`re in, much less what part of the country.

Thanks,

This is an easy one.

BE CREATIVE!!!!!

Go to your local fabric store and BUY your wedding them colors to "disguise" the chairs--the salespeople can also help you with "tie-backs/seat cusion."

To make your reception "spectacular," try a THEME party, look at magazines that specialize in party decorations (ex: Mail order magazines like Oriental Trading Company/Fun Express), and take it from there...you`ll both do fine.

Good luck in your endeavors.

Hi Cathy:

Thanks for your input. I did see that ad posted on one of the message boards here...but keep in mind that I am in Canada.

$2 a cover may sound like a bargain in the US, but in Canadian funds that`s about $3.50 each. That adds up to over $400 to fill my need for 120 chairs, and that`s before I even figure in shipping. For that price I can rent attractive chairs plus covers from a local rental place.

Thanks though! Any other ideas that may be more of a bargain?
