Song For "Uncle" Of The Bride
I need a song for my Uncle and I. My biological dad and his family are not invited to the wedding. So, my uncle is walking me down the isle. He was the only dad I knew, he raised me like a daughter, well more like a son.. But I wasnt complaining. I liked engines and fishing. I was thinking of the theme song from M*A*S*H* because there are no lyrics and we used to watch it every weekend.. But i think thats a little much... And I dont want the song to talk about him marrying my mother.. Becuase hes married to her sister.
I just need something that says thank you for being there for me.. When no one else was. Anyone have any suggestions? I dont want it to be offensive to his daughter either. She is older than me, unmarried, and hasnt had her "dance with dad". I was thinking of having him dane with her half way through the song, and dancing with my (just like a) grandpa. I have 73 days to figure this one out...

I`m in the same situation as you. My Uncle (also my godfather) will be walking me down the aisle in September, and I have yet to find a song that will work. Everything is either too father/daughter-ish, or too mushy. He has always been there for me, and he has sons, no daughters, so this is a special thing for him too. I`ll let you know if I come up with anything.

My daughter is in a similar situation, but the man that has been like a father to her is a dear friend of the family. The song I found is "When I Needed You Most" by Kimaya Seward. The words are perfect. The problem we are having is what to call the dance on the reception program, in lieu of "Father/Daughter" dance.
