Stand In For Parents At Wedding Help!

Does anyone know a "polite" or "correct" way to announce a couple who is standing in for the parents of someone getting married??? How would they be listed in a program or introduced at the reception. The parents are living, just refusing to take part in the wedding, the stand in are the parents of life long friend. Any help would be great!
