Decorating For A 4th Of July Family Reunion

I am responsible for decorating for an upcoming family reunion on July 4. I want theme relative to patroitism american style and african american style. The location will be outdoor in a hugh backyard with trees and grass... I would like a few suggestions from creative minds... I have an assortment of baskets i want to use as well as itmes for props, but i don`t know where i`m going yet with my ideas. I`m thinking of creating a family tree using a real tree, i`m thinking of using red , white and blue crepe paper as well as red, green and black ? Help.
