Annoucing That We Eloped Months Ago

My husband and I eloped about 6 months ago. My family has no idea we eloped. We have been planning a wedding for this coming summer, but now we have just decided we would have a gathering to annoucne it. What would be the proper way to annouce such an event?

I wouldn`t wait till your guests arrive at the gathering to tell them. I would tell your close family (parents, grandparents, etc.) in person as soon as possible. If you still want to have a reception to celebrate your marriage and announce that you are married, then I would send invitations for a "reception celebrating your marriage".
