Is Midnight Blue Too Dark?

Hi, im getting married on the 2nd june `07 and have always loved the idea of having midnight blue and ivory or silver as my colour theme but everyone ive spoken to have said that these are winter colours and wouldnt look right at a summer wedding is this true?
