Post Wedding Announcements

My Husband and I just had a small wedding ceremony this past weekend and I was wandering if it`s proper to send out post-wedding announcements to those people who were not invited? If so, all the wording I see all has my parents names. We paid for the entire wedding ourself, therefore I would like the announcement to just have our names. Any suggestions?

Thank you

It`s a nice touch to send out announcements if you had a small wedding. I would use whatever wording you feel comfortable with. They can be as formal or informal as you like.

I was thinking of the same idea. I only have a budget for so many guests. My parents have too many guests for us to handle. I would really like to know how you are going about not hurting anyones feelings. Love to hear any ideas!

Planning a similiar occasion for next month. We are mailing our announcements out on the wedding day. Post-date announcements will serve their purpose. Most people would like to know about a wedding even if they weren`t invited. We are responsible for our finances as well but we put Jennifer.... Daughter of .... Just so people who aren`t ordinarily familiar with your names but may be familiar with your parents will be able to better associate who you are. We also found a very inexpensive way of going about it. A sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper can be cut into four post card size announcements. While we are having them professionally printed each sheet of 4 only costs .18 cents to print in black and white. I`m sure costs will vary, but for a simple paper it should be similiar. You can have the print shop print your return address and a postage box on the opposite side, saving you money on postage (a post card is cheaper to mail than a letter) and envelopes. Hope this helps.
