Is This True?

Question:

Do designers REALLY and TRULY just stop producing a gown style WITHOUT informing the stores that carry that style? I am in love with a dress that is a few seasons old, and the bridal shop said that the designer "can just stop letting us order it" without any notice. My wedding is not until Sept. 2007 and I am having a hard time deciding on whether or not I want to order this dress so early...I know it takes 6-9 months to come in, but I am afraid that if I order it now, by the time it comes in, I will be smaller than the dress and have to spend a ton on alterations.
Any suggestions???????

The dress is Mariella by Maggie Sottero...anyone know how old it actually is?!?!?
