Venetian Masquerade Ball Wedding
Looking for ideas for a venetian masquerade ball themed wedding. My dress is ivory/gold and my bridesmaids are wearing black. I am also using burgundy for a color. I am thinking of masks for favors. Really isn`t too much info for mask decorations. Thank you!!!

Dear Audra,
I would love to help, I did some really neat votive holders done in different masks for a Mardi Gras theme before they were very sharp.
Email me anytime I am happy to help and you can see some of my work at www.cmbcrafts.com
Be sure to check out the votive holders with the different masks and also on the Jewish Holiday theme page there is a hurricane shade done with masks on it, these are just examples as everything is custom made.

I am also going with the same wedding theme and we have made the decision to give masks to the guests (mostly to ensure they wear one!) as favors --- any suggestions on how to find directions to make them? We are pretty artistic and because of this, we cannot justify 50-65 USD per mask per guest! Help!

Girls:
That is my theme as well! But I`ve got a couple years before it happens (long engagement)
I talked to this really great company:
They have masks that range from $20 - $120
And they say they can give discount depending on guest #.
Please tell them Leslie Gale sent you.
Hope this helps, and if you find any great sites, please let me know.

To anyone out there needing masks, I can get you a dozen beautiful masks for $60.00 per dozen, I would be happy to send pics of the assortment you would get. If you order 4 dozen or more you only pay $40.00 per dozen. This works out to about 3.50 per guest. Let me know.

I am also throwing a masquerade ball/ wedding on Halloween of 2008. Any advice for invitations? I thought about scrolls but I don`t know? Also, where can I look at those masks?

I was looking at scrolls, myself. That`s been the best idea I`ve seen so far, unless you want a mask on the invitation.
For me, I`m just having them show up in formal wear. My guests won`t know it`s a masquerade until they pick out their masks in the lobby.

My question is if there are so many of us who are doing this theme why isn`t it easier to find things such as invitations to match it? I am also doing the masquerade ball them with the victorian 19th century time period. I live in NH and my wedding is July 7, 2007. I would greatly appreciate any helpful tips or pictures. I have also found a great website that is working with me www.amasquerade.com and they have promised a 10% discount and they have masks at like $10-$15 USD per mask. We are getting the wedding party`s shoes and masks from here. You should check it out. My wedding dress is White and silver and my brides maids are also black and white. My color theme is black, white, and silver. I wanted to be simple yet still able to have fun with it. I am also going to throw some color in with my flower girls who are going to be little butterflies; but I`m also have trouble finding masks for children. I have a lot of kids in my wedding and I don`t want to paint the masks on b/c that would just be a mess.
Thanks for all your help!!!
Thanks for all your help!!!

I know- its been really difficult for me to find supplies that don`t look cheap or tacky.
Here are some things I have thought about:
1. Invitations with gold or silver trim (simple and elegant, and if your wedding is period, it goes with.)
2. Colors in the flowers and decor that match with the masks that are chosen.
3. Focus on these areas the most and the rest will come together-
-food
-flowers
-masks
-music
These will set the scene, depending on what you chose.
If children`s masks are really difficult and you have butterflies, why not look at halloween or dance costume stores?
Again, I still recommend SoCal Design Company. They not only supply you with amazing masks, they help where they can with planning and preparing for the event.
That`s the best advice I can give. I saw a website with masquerade invitations, I just didn`t like them. I can`t remember the site. I`ll get back to you.

I ust browsed through some of the other mask sites that were mentioned in this thread... I have bought many masks from around the world while I was shopping for my macherati in venice. I bought a bunch of the "venetian style" ones that are made in China. I have bought from many of the mask makers in Italy. My best advice is this... If you can afford it get real venetians... Call me and I will look to see which models would work for your budget and I can even group them all up and send you a picture of what your wedding day masquerade masks will look like. Yet another shameless plug... We also do custom designer masks for those of you who know exactly what you want. Visit our website at www.socaldesignco.com/designer.htm to see examples of the custom masks that we make OR just visit the site for an amazing tour of the history of the masquerade and to see my authentic venetian masks at www.socaldesignco.com . PS - I always have new models coming in... Send me an email and I will keep you posted on new models between now and your special day!

Be sure to check out oriental trding co at orientaltrading.com - they have a beautiful array of masks - foamies for kids, plastic half masks for the budget conscience and even offer masquerade masks adorned with feathers and all in a mardi gras theme - last I checked they offered 12 masks for 24.95. Every month they offer a promotion that if you spend more than $60 they ship free. And they have a large selection of wedding stuff too.

Hello everyone! We can help!
We started a mask making company over a year ago due our love of Venetian masques and disappointment in price for quality! The quality Venetian masques are expensive and the affordable ones are poor quality - So we make them!
We offer custom designs and colors, bulk orders with quick turn around time, and masque favors (double as napkin ring and place card). We can engrave messages on the inside or out, cover them in your bridal fabrics and have your package to you within a week! We use only quality materials (23K gold, sterling silver, cultured pearls) and our wedding party packages can get 30%-40% off! Plus our bridal party package includes and extra masque for the bride at no additional charge! We’ve done hundreds of weddings, quinces, sweet sixteens!
Give us a call! Our specialty is helping at the last minute!
