Met On The Internet & Married

I met my fiance on the internet a year ago and will be married this August (2003). If I could be of assistance, please let me know.

It`s great to hear that people met online. I met and married a man i met online and it had a very bad ending so i am glad to hear it has happy ending sometimes.

Thanks Donna but i did find my soul mate on a blind date a year ago and were getting married in July and the intrenet thing just bittered me because the 2nd one i had was also bad because he cheated and we lived 7 hours apart so it was hard but now i am happy and glad you found someone to be truthfull online

My husband and I met online in August of 1999 . We started writing soon after and wrote letters and called each other for 8 months. Then he came to met me in April of 2000 . And we started dating . About a month later he moved to the town I lived in and we got married in July of 2000 . And then we moved back to where he lived cuz he had a job here and owned his home . Sometimes its hard living 800 miles away from my family but it has all been worth it ! We have a beautiful daughter together and couldn’t be more happy . Everyone thought I was making a mistake by getting married so young but it turned out to be the best thing I have ever done .

Do you have to be married or just be getting married to be allowed in your book?

My husband was the greatest guy when we met online and he was so sweet and said he wanted the same things i did in life but when we got married it all changed and yeah i guess that could happen no matter how you meet but it made me think about online guys and the lies they can tell us.he fought with my whole family and hated my son and that was not a good thing my son means the world to me and he had nothing nice to say about him or anyone i knew and wanted me to leave and move to canada so he wasent around my family and after a year of marrige it ended in divorce and i was heartbroken because i thought fate stepped in and brought us together but guess not...

I`m sorry to hear that you went through all that pain. I think you are correct in saying that could happen even if you met your spouse through your best friend. I wish you all the best.

My fiance and I met online also! We`re getting married on July 26th, 2003 our 5-year anniversary. I`m glad to know that there are other people like us that have ended up happy with a relationship that began through a computer! =)

I met my boyfriend on the internet on Valentines day of 03. We both have webcams and pics so we video confernece every day and talk for almost up to two hours a night on the phone. We are both getting to know each other real well, and fall in love a little more each day. He will be coming to visit me and my kids this summer and if all goes well, we will be married at that time, or possibly a little later in the year. I know that it all sounds crazy but I feel in my heart that this man is my soul mate and we were brought together for a reason. After we are married I will be relocating about 2500 miles from my home and yes, I have thought about all the drawbacks of such a drastic change. But I am a stern believer that true love is not all wine and roses and includes some sacrifices and life altering decisions in order for it to work out.

Stephanie that is great to hear and I know you think that people will think you are moving to fast or crazy but I know where you are coming from because my fiance and I lives many miles away and we talk hours on the phone and view the cam of one another. I found a great phone company where I have on basic rate to cut down on the phone call because it was more then my house payment at first. But what I want to say is you go girl and congradulation on your long term happiness. I will be getting married in July 2003 to my internet love also.

I met the man of my dreams simply by chatting on AIM. If people can bump into each other in the supermarket and talk, why can`t we "cyber-ly" bump into each other and develop a relationship? :-)

I am so happy to see that there are others like me (and my best friend) out there. My best friend met her soulmate online in September of 2002. They met in person a few weeks later and by the end of November, she made the 400 mile move to live with him. I made the 11 hour drive to Austin in February to stand up for her at their wedding and three months later, they`re still happy. I met the man of my dreams online in February of 2003. I switched to unlimited long distance (offered by several phone companies these days) after several 13 hour phone calls (no joke). We`ve traveled back and forth and both believe we`ve each met our match. My girls think he`s wonderful, and his son and friends seem to like me. He`s coming to see me in June and there`s a hint of engagement...I`m keeping my fingers crossed!!!! When people have told me that I`m insane (including my mother) for dating online, I ask them how it`s any more sane to meet somebody in a bar or at the grocery store. There is a risk with everything we do in life, we just have to weigh the risks vs. The rewards and figure out what`s best for each of us. And besides, there are lots of services available for backgrounds checks these days! ;-)

Me and my now fiancee met online, my best friend at the time was at my house for spring break and i was asleep in bed when she got onto my aol screen name, which i still dont understand why she was on my name, she had her own lol - but iam thankful she did .. Anyways she and jimmy (my fiancee) dated for uh.. 3 days i think while she slept in the mornings i got online and i noticed a screen name on my buddylist that wasnt any of my friends, so we became friends, then 6 months later on Aug 9th we began a relationship, we lived 500 miles away, him in NYC me in Upstate NY, a year and a half later i moved to NYC to be with him ( I Was 17 at the time and out of highschool ) well just a few weeks ago we deicded to get married in june 2004, he offically purposed to me last Saturday (May 3rd 2003) at his little sisters 21st birthday dinner, in front of most of his family, his mom, 3 sisters and there boyfriends, his dad and his girlfriend, and his sisters two friends, and we got a song sang to us in spansh by the live band they had there :)

Just goes to show that People can met and fall in love anywhere no a days, we just happened to met the love of our lives online !
