March Wedding Colors?!?!?!?

I proposed to my fiance on New Years Eve. Yes I`m the groom posting a message! We were originally discussing a Fall wedding in November, but we`re 2nd guessing ourselves for only having 11 months to plan and get financially prepared. So our 2nd date might be March. She likes the idea of a fall wedding with Fall colors. I`m trying to tell her that dark colors (Navy/Burgundy) Any one out there have an opinion if darker fall/winter colors are still appropriate in March.. I say it`s our day and ettiquete doesn`t matter, but I`m the guy so that doesn`t work for her!!! Thanks for the input!!!

You could use Dark red roses with orchids which gives Spring a dramatic welcome. But remember that if she wants it her colors its better to go with that. Women dream about this day since they are little girls so let her pick out what she likes. Good Luck.

We`re lookin at the March 6th or 13th, or possibly even February 28th now! For some reason March is not sounding "good" to her! She likes the sound of "February"! So we`re thinking Navy blue and silver for colors?!?!?!?!? With the bridesmaids wearing Navy blue dresses???

A "negetive" of March is that many schools have spring break ihn March. I found out the hard way. My anniversary is March 15, and during our honeymoon we had many spring break students.

I think that February 28th, with silver and navy would be beautiful. I would have the bridesmaids wear navy dresses with silver jewelry. And Dave, I think it is great that you want to be part of the planning and decisions.

Since you are looking at February now, a good color is mauve. Somewhat red but still dark. Hope this helps!

It all depends on the region you live in. You may not want to go dark in March if you live in a sunny climate. A silver blue, teal, or a sage green is a good alternative especially if the first day of Spring (March 20) has passed. Good luck.

Well thanks for all of the advice. Actually we`re back to looking at March 6th 2004. We`re in Maryland, so I guess that would be a No to the sunny tropical climate. We`re actually lookin at the navy dress idea w/ silver jewelery for bridesmaids, and navy vests w/ silver buttons/cufflings for grooms men tuxes.

I`m getting married March 13, 2004 and my bridesmaids are wearing eggplant ( a deep purple) and we`re using tropical colored flowers (oranges, yellows) for the bouquets. I`ve had some people tell me that it`s too dark for March, but the color is beautiful and that`s what`s important. Navy sounds beautiful for the dresses, and I wouldn`t worry too much about it. Just go with the colors that you guys like and it`ll be a beautiful day.

I agree! I just love the deep purples, mangos, etc. Of the tropical colors. Besides loving them, the flowers are cheaper for me because of living in S. FL so it works out nicely. The big thing is for the couple to enjoy it!!! =)

I am getting married on March 13, 2004. My fiance picked out the color navy blue for our brides maid dresses. I also like that color so I think we may go with that. He just proposed to me Oct 14, 2003. So we only have around 5months to go before the big day. Any suggestions on what kind of flowers to use with navy blue dresses? Also were only having 2 bridesmaids and groomsman. Should I use my maid of honor dress the same as my brides maide dress? Someone suggested that they be different? How about wedding favors what are you thinking about using at the table for the reception. Also what were doing for our guest book is having our engagement picture blew up and getting a big border around the picture and having our guest sign that . Just a suggestion for anyone. Any other suggestions for us we would greatly appriciate it.

I`m getting married on March 13th too! My colours for my girls are a merlot / red wine colour. I think dark colours are fine. Really, anything goes in March. It`s considered winter to some and spring to others. For our honeymoon we picked a resort that was adults only to avoid the spring break kids. I`m still looking for flower ideas to go with the merlot coloured dresses.... Thanks, and congrats to all.

Flower colors should be what you and your other half like. Navy can go with alot of different colors, just depends on what YOU like... There are not set rules for what colors go for what season. If anyone would like to talk about ideas or what colors go with what, please feel free to email me at angwillard@yahoo.com. I am a florist and have done weddings before in both silk and fresh flowers from small weddings to the large ones. Remeber your flowers are in most of your wedding pictures, so have fun with them and do what you like..:)
