Wedding Consultant/Planner Are They Worth It?

We just got engaged on Dec 15 and would like to be married in Oct 2003. We are both successful professionals but this wedding thing is enormous!!! We are considering hiring a professional to help us sort through all of it.

Are they worth it? Do they really save money? Let me know your thoughts and experiences.

Rebecca,
A professional wedding plannner is worth her weight in gold. Speaking as a professional planner, I know I have saved clients money just because of my vendor contacts alone. When you need to plan a major event and are already involved in your own career, you need to find a trained and competent wedding planner. Someone who knows the ins and outs the business, someone who will see your vision for a perfect day then create and execute the plan. A good wedding planner can help you enjoy the planning process while keeping an eye on your budget.

Kim, the previous poster, is right though. You`ll need to take some time to interview them. Look for someone you trust and will be comfortable with and a planner with good references.

I am in the Boston area and am in contact with other reputable planners across the country. If you need a recommendation or want more information on finding a good wedding planner, contact me at mansurfamily@hotmail.com.
