1 Year Of Bleeding
I made the mistake of allowing my boyfriend to talk me into taking the shot. All went well for the first month... But after that... It was over... Now I`m still paying the price... I only got one shot... And I`ve been bleeding now for one year straight.... This can`t be healthy... And I now worry if I will ever stop... Or ever be able to have children...

You probably should be talking to a doctor. The same one who gave you the shot maybe? They can tell you and take the right tests to answer all of your questions. I had Norplant, (2 times so that was 10 years of coverage). I went from 125 pounds to 211 in those 10 years. I never bled more than 3 days and didn`t mind the weight gain. Now that I no longer have it, the weight is coming off slowly but I am not having any problems. Depo seems to be such a problem and I think I can handle the weight gain more than the problem I am hearing so many people having with that shot. I pray for you and hope that you get the news that you are looking to receive.

Good luck.
I had the shot and them same thing happened for about six months, all the sudden it just stopped and I had nothing. I went from 160 lbs to 260within one year after the shot.
The doctor doesn`t understand it. I think i should have stuck top the pill. I never had any problems with it.
It has been four years now, and i am finally starting to lose the weight. I am now 220 lbs.
I have fifty more lbs. To lose before my wedding, and hope i find some way to keep it off.
By the way, the only reason i got this fixed, is because I went to a fertility doctor, he ran a bunch of tests to figure out what was wrong.
You might want to try that.

I had a iud put in 5 years ago and have never been happier. I never tried the shots, only the pill never happy with that because of weight gain. I can leave the iud in for up to 10 years or have it taken out. This is what I suggest to everyone, I do know that it isn`t for everyone but I have had no issues what so ever with it. It is a life saver. What does your boyfriend know about female birth control? You need to go see your doctor and not take your boyfriends advice when it comes to your body.

I had that problem with the shot too - I got scared and went to the ER, where they gave me hormone pills - the bleeding stopped with in a day or two. I was pregnant by the end of the month....my dr estimated it to about 5 days after the ER visit. Good news - easy prob. To fix and not damaging to reproduction. Bad news- was trying to avoid the pregnancy to begin with, lol. Use an additional method until your new BC takes affect.
BTW, I have an IUD too,and I LOVE IT.

I feel so sorry for you. I endured the exact same thing. I am not sure how good your doctor is but you should be coming to the end of it. I finally stopped and things returned to normal after 15 months. I also allowed my boyfriend ( my now husband) to talk me into it as well. I hope thing get better for you.
