Old Hollywood Glamour Ideas PLEEEZE!!!

Hello, i was very curious to hear how your vintage weddings went. I am also planning a wedding and really like the idea. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated. Tracey

Hello there, well my wedding is now over. I am happily married for almost 5 months now. We did an Old Hollywood Glamour theme wedding and it was AMAZING I`m still receiving rave reviews about it to this day. For centerpieces I used taller `eiffel tower` vases and had ostrich feathers coming out of them (I still have a LOT of feather left over probably about 200 if anyone is interested in purchasing them). We did a black and white colour scheme with hints of red here and there. For our favors I went to Dollarama and they had those old popcorn boxes (the red and white striped ones) that were plastic for only a buck so I used them and then put a pair of comfy socks in the bottom and filled with movie theatre candy (best time to get that is right after halloween if possible when its all on sale) and then I made movie ticket stubs to go inside that had all our own information on it ex. `Premiering `Our Life Together" starring Melissa and Aarron Sherwin, show starts at 5pm etc.`. For dresses I made my own wedding dress it was white lace strapless, I did my hair in a low bun off to the side and had a birdcage veil on (which I also still have if anyone is interested in purchasing it). The bridesmaids wore black floor length dresses that were very strappy. We all had fur stoles to put around our shoulders while we were outside doing pictures. The guys all wore authentic zoot suites. Our flowers were calla lilles and white roses. We used ostrich feather all over the place and instead of our flower girl dropping flowers she dropped crystals (christmas tree ornaments) and feathers. And for our food we didnt have your traditional sit down meal, we had waiters and waitresses walking around all night with platters of food so you could just help yourself all night long. We had the staff dress in black and white with VIP backstage things around there necks. I had our photographer dress in black and white also but made her dress up almost like a old fashioned paparazi she had the band thing around her arm, it was really neat. We played big band swing music throughout the night. Overall it was an amazing night if anyone wants any suggestions let me know and I can help out in any way possible!!! Just remember enjoy planning it but enjoy the actual day even more, things will happen that you didnt plan for and that may throw a wrench into it but just remember its about marrying the man you love not about the glitz and glam of it all!!!

Everyone seems to have really good idea but I have a small problem. I am trying to find a way to tie in the Old hollywood glamour theme with an airforce theme without making it look odd or cheesy. My fiance is in the airforce and i thought it would be a great way to have a piece of him incorporated in the wedding as well. Any ideas would really help!! Thanks in advance!!

Hi, I was going to do an old hollywood themed wedding, but decided to go to vegas instead(its always been what i wanted) but i bought the old cigarette holders for party favors i was going to take a ribbon in my wedding colors and get song lyrics and love quotes printed on fancy paper in another wedding color and our monogram on some more paper in fancy colors. Then have the the papers alaminated with song lyric showing on one side and the monogram on the other then tie it to the cigarette holder. My colors were going to be black,white, silver and blush pink. Anyways i have the cigeratte holders if anybody is interested in them i payed $145.00 for 145 of them. But i will sell them for a $100.00 if anybody is interested they are still inividually wrapped.
