Can Depovera Cause Yeast Infection

Can I get constant YEAST infection from Deprovera? I live in Jamaica, Deprovera was recommended to me by the clinic were I had my son in 1992 I started taking it and gain about 15lbs I took it for four years and had no other side effects I had no period but did not mind. I stooped for two years and lost the weight then I started again in 98 for two years I gain 10lbs but no other side effects I then stopped for six years. In November 2005 I went back on Deprovera This is were the problem started, I immediately gained 8lbs and started having yeast infection which returned a few days after clearing up. I went to the doctor got prescription drugs for the yeast and it still return immediately after clearing up. I got mood swing and lost my sex drive. I also felt pain when having sex. My husband is worried and so am I. I was unaware of all the side effects until recently; I just cannot believe I took this contraceptive without knowing what I was doing to myself.
