Bustling A Wedding Gown From Underneath

I have been a seamstress for 25 years. But I have never seen a dress bustled from underneath. I am working on two dresses that are very plain. There is not any lace or beading on the back or the train. Is there a way to bustle the dresses from underneath? One wedding is May 6 the other June 10. Any help would be welcome. Thank you, Shirley

My daughter`s was married last summer. We had her dress bustled underneath. There were buttons sewn underneath in the back seam line. We then had hooks sewn on the underneath train to lift onto the buttons. Her dress looked better bustled underneath because she didn`t have alot of frills on the bottom of the dress and it hung better than bustling on the outside. Hope this helps.

Pam, Thank you for the info. I will try that and see how it works.

I wanted to clarify that we had material loops made and didn`t use "hooks". Her dress had two separate under bustles with each bustle having two buttons and loops side by side to hold the weight of the train up. I wanted to make sure and clarify my info. Good luck! Pam
