David`s Bridal

I recently had a bad experience with David`s Bridal. I knew about their great offers, so decided not to just walk in but to make an appointment. My appointment was a week in advance, and the saleslady told me to come in about 2:00 wednesday, she said this was the slowest time. I have no family where I live so I needed real help with selecting a dress. I show up on time and immediately the sales lady told me my size and grabbed all of the Oleg Cassini dresses. I explained to her that i was on a tight budget and could only afford around $200.00. The least expensive dress she handed me was around $1,200.00!!! When I finally asked if I could go out into the store and look at some of the other dresses, every one I picked out (which was about 7 or 8 of them) she told me that they would never be in on time, or that the alterations would be to drastic. Some of them she would not even allow me to try on. Saying that they were for fat girls that wanted to try to be skinny. She told me the dress would make me look anorexic!! She was very rude and after only helping me try on the 2nd dress that she had picked out told me she was going to have to smoke a pack of cigarettes on her break!!....I was the only one in the store this entire time!!! Finally I called a co-worker of mine and they rushed to my rescue. I did not want to be rude to the lady, but it was a disaster!! They got there and tried to give me dresses to try on, ( the less expensive ones) and she told them I would have to make another appointment so she could go on lunch.
Desperate to find a dress, I waited in my car the entire time she went to lunch. When she came back she was even more rude. I had already bought invitations with them on-line, and had no problem. So I ask her to try on the dress that I liked, which was with all the rest of the dresses, and she told me that it was allready taken by a co-worker. I have worked in retail before and I have never seen someone try harder not to sell a dress!!! Finally I gave up. The next day I walked into a bridal boutique and was greeted by a wonderful lady, who i bought my dress from. She let me pick it out and it was almost the same one that the David`s Bridal lady would not let me try on. It was so beautiful, I cried when I put it on. My experience at David`s Bridal was beyond terrible. She constantly made comments under her breath about my dress choices and was just plain rude! They even had the nerve to call me and my fiance about more dresses and tuxedo`s from their tuxedo shop!! My fiance told them he did not wish to purchase anything from them, yet they continuously call us still to this day. And every time they call we explain to them to take us out of their book, and they don`t!! I would not recommend them to anyone!! yes they might have bargains, but the craziness i had to put up with was soo not worth saving a penny!!!!!

I went into David`s Bridal to find a wedding dress that I had seen online. I made an appointment to try on the dress to see if I liked it and I did. The lady that was helping me that day was great. The lady that was helping me told me if I want to come back and finish paying for the dress at a later time I could place the dress on layaway and once I pay off my balance that they would tranfer it to a new dress that they would have to order. When I went to pay for the dress the cashier to the helper to go to the back and get the dress. The helper came back up with the dress that EVERYONE HAD TRIED ON and the lady said here your dress. I told her what the lady had say that helped me at the time of my purchase. The lady got a real NASTY attutiude. Me been me I got one too. The alternation manager came over and asked what was wrong, I told her and she walked over to another lady and say, " SHE IS ACTING LIKE A REAL NI#$A." I told the manager of the store what I had heard and NOTHING was done about the situation. I even called the head office. Now what kind of service is this for a national store have.

I have had a few very mixed experiences with David`s Bridal. The first visit was wonderful, the next awful, rude and unhelpful. So, I finally didn`t even make an appointment and started going myself and picking out my own dresses and having my sister help me get them on and off. So, since then I have really had nothing but wonderful experiences at David`s Bridal. An occassional rude person, but just ignored them and went on my way. And I actually bought my wedding dress there for $99 and my seven bridesmaid dresses there for $59 each. The girls helped me find the dresses in other stores across the United States since they were on clearance and their store didn`t have all the sizes and they couldn`t be ordered. Perhaps I just happened to get lucky, but it also seemed to me that the ruder people worked during the day and peak hours and the nicer, more helpful people worked in the later evenings and slower times.
