How near Philly? Try booking the event as a party at a good restaurant. We did this with daughter`s wedding at the Washington Crossing Inn in Washington Crossing, PA, about 20 min No. Of Philly. You have some more responsibilities as to bringing in your own florist, etc (& I can recommend those too) but it cuts the cost greatly. It`s a beautiful place. You don`t have to choose from the wedding packages if you cut out the big bar & limit it to beer, wine & soda. We didn`t have a drinking crowd so it suited us fine.
This place does the wedding package bit too, but they were willing to work with us on doing it as a party in midday.
