Adoption Shower - Not For Baby

My best friend is adopting a 5 1/2 year old girl from Russia. I am trying to organize a shower for her but I am having no luck with original ideas. All the web sites I have visited, so far, have only been for adoption baby showers, nothing for an older child. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them and would greatly appreciate the advice. Thank you, in advance for your help.

Hi Kris,
Not sure if you are still looking for ideas, but something I did for my daughter (for a baby shower) would work just as well for an older child and for an adopted child. Make a "Mommy Advice" booklet and let everyone to comes to the shower write their favorite advice in the booklet and then present to the new "Mommy" ...if you want more details, email me at majikalexpression@yahoo.com .....
