Freckles.
I have a huge problem with freckles. Lots of people find it trivial that i worry so much about them, but no one understands the real problems they cause emotionally. I have exceedingy low self-esteem and a mask of make up everyday to go with it. Lots of people tell me i look cakefaced, but it does give me that extra security when i go out places. It`s easy enough for people to say, don`t worry, freckles are beuatiful, i would love to have freckles, etc etc. But i would love to swap skin with all these people and see how much they like having discolourations unevenly splurged all over thier arms, shoulders, neck and face.
I havent been to the beach for months - i don`t go in the sun and i have earned myself the name of albino. I would much rather be naturally white than a leather bag when i am older though. Yet still, they will not fade.
I have spent near $1000 on creams and consultations from a dermatologist, and he could not offer me anything exeept laser (which he said would be a bad idea becuase the long term effects are not known yet, and i could end up with a melanoma hanging off my face) and a hydroquinone script which i decided not to fill.
For 2 years now i have worn sunscreen every day and every night. Yes, night. If you use a sunscreen with MICROFINE titanium dioxide in it, the titanuim dioxide gets the opportunity to sink into the skin overnight and create a really strong defence against the sun. So, if used every day and every night you can effectively `fill` your skin with titanium doixide which is the most protective ingredient in sunscreen. I use SunSense daily tinted face sunscreen and it seems to have kept them from darkening when i go outside. Also for a year or so i have been using dermabrite by skin doctors. It states that it should be used twice a day, but it is best to be used ONLY at night for the first few months, or until you see results, and then used evey second night to maintan results.
I have also worked out that flourecsent lights, disco lights, camera flashes and computer screens bring them out, which is a sad realisation for me becuase i am into photography and pretty much addicted to the internet.
As for ANYONE suggesting sun beds or tanning, that is pretty much screaming at the sun to give you more. It can not and will not work.
Other things that have not worked for me are -
John plunketts superfade
Palmers skin sucess even tone
Lemon juice
I hope this helps some people.
