Father/Daughter Songs?
I`m looking for the perfect father/daughter song...but there`s a catch. I`ll be dancing to this song with my step-dad. He`s my only father so I feel bad for calling him my step-dad. Finding the perfect song has been a little tough because he`s been in my life since I was 9 years old and a lot of the songs have things in it about being a baby with your father. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful. Thanks.

There is a perfect song for step dads, it says something about he was my father but he didn`t have to be try calling a local country radio station and asking them about this song. I don`t know the title or the artist, but I would say it came out about 5 monthes ago. Hope this helps!

Same situation at my wedding and went with "my girl".
It is an upbeat song and your guests will get into it if you have fun with it........
Another song is Butterfly kisses.....

How about "WIND BENEATH MY WINGS" and let my band play it for you. My singer sings that song so well until you will think it is actually Bette Midler on stage singing it. Have you selected your "first dance" song? There`s a song called Parent`s Prayer that is pretty. You may want to listen to it. It`s more about having to let you go and wishing the best for you.

Although i agree that he didn`t have to be (brad paisley) is a beautiful song, it isn`t really a wedding song. It is about a man who has a child and is hoping that he is going to be as good as a father as his stepfather was. There is no mention of daughters at all in the song.

If you want something a little more contemporary. How about Beyonce`s song "Daddy". You can go to sing365 to find the lyrics. The song makes me cry everytime I hear it!

I was also going to suggest "Butterfly Kisses" what a pretty song! On the Brad Paisley; yes a nice song, but I agree..not a wedding song necessarily (no mention of the daughter.) I haven`t heard the "daddy" song but my daughter has the CD so I may try and locate it there. Also, consider the song "Hero" that best describes my daddy..my "hero" but listen to the lyrics I know some of them in my head as I write this, but it may be more toward a guy/girl thing. The singer is (don`t know the spelling) but Julio Eglasius. Good luck!
