Deprovera Yes Or No?

I have a 14 year old daughter who I am looking to place on birth control. I have been hearing mixed emotions regarding deprovera and I was wondering if anyone has been on this for numerous years and if so have you had many negative, long-term side effects from it. I am really leaning toward the shots because I like knowing that she can`t forget to take a pill, however I do not want to put her health in jeopardy. They gynecologist assured me that it was safe as long as she took calcium every day. Any feedback would be appreciated.
