Getting Married April 8, 2006
My guest list had doubled twice. I`m running out of time and money. I want to get married on the beach, but there isnt anything in my price range. Ive tried the public beach rentals, but all of them are all ready booked. I can have a wedding ceremony on the beach but know where do we have a reception. Ive been looking for hours trying to find a resonable place to hold 120 people. Somebody please help me!!!!!

Wow girl, how fun! Okay, first of all let me start with this: I got married on May 29th, 1999. I had a full wedding and reception with 200 guests. All that, and I only got engaged two weeks before. SO- it is possible!! But not necessarily easy! Here are my suggestions:
- if you are having a beach wedding, why not follow it up with a potluck style barbque reception? This will be cost effective and easy to plan! Here are some ideas for places for a reception:
A Public Park - this only works for a informal reception becuase you can not set up opr decorate, and woudl need to be an afternoon or early evening event.
A Back Yard - think if you know anyone with a yard big enough - 120 seems like a huge number but it really isn`t. You could consider renting a tent if any are still available, in case of rain, or for a more formal feel.
A School Yard - visit some of the local schools - maybe the one you went to!! Find out if they will let you have yoru reception in their school yard. If you want a indoor location - consider booking a school gym!
Some other locations that may have enough space for an outdoor event or maybe even an indoor one: Museum, hotel, bed & breakfast, college or university, senoirs center.
If i think of more, I`ll come back:)
