Funny thing, I was just thining about that show the other day. Bob Cantalanto, aw, what a gorgeous babe`!!! :O)

I used to be on the dance show in the 80s i always went with my friend tina from deptford new jersey i wish that the show was still on tv.when they did a halloween party i was taylor dayne.my friend tina she was madonna.

I was obsessed with that freakin show !!!!!! I wish it was still on, too !! Imagine ?? I was on it a few times and still have the tapes of it -- every now and then I bust it out and bust a gut over it !!! I just ran into a guy in a bar and he had pictures of all the regulars,...turns out, he used to be a camera man on the show !! It brought back so many memories looking at those pics !! I was begging him to call up Michael Nise (shadow) and get me a dp usa jacket !!!

God , this is so hysterical! All these people remembering Dance Party USA!! Back in high school ( 1986-88) my best friend & I watched it ALL the time!! haha .. Every single weekend we`d go out dancing ..couldn`t get enough! I still remember that on Dance Party is where I first saw the girls wearing those "banana clips" for your hair. Here in Chicago nobody wore them.. We thought they were so cool!! SO, we were the first ones to wear them here! HAHA..oh my, the memories! I even remember Kelly telling tv land how she got a new car.. In cherry red, of course! Stacy Q, Madonna, Prince, George Michael...all the music that mattered! And the huge 80`s hair!! Just like mine! Why didn`t I ever tape those shows?? I would love to see them now!! Anyone have them????????????

I loved that show too, and when i thought of it recently i looked it up and the jump the shark website has some other postings on the message boards. How shocking is it that kelly is/was actually kelly ripa, aka live with regis and kelly. I wish i could get my hands on some of the old tapes-anyone know of any way???

I have a few episodes taped, of course the ones I was on !!! I could try and ask the guy I know how to get some old tapes or copies of them at least....he is still good friends with Michael Nise, the producer of the show....I`ll keep everyone posted !!!! I work across the street from the building it was taped in.....Michael Nise`s office is still in there....I can always hunt The Man down myself !!!!!

I LIVED for Dance Party USA! Bob Catalano was SUCH a hottie!! Princess with her "teardrop" (she finally met her prince) Oh and that one kid, was young, and soo cute and they finally fixed him up with some girl and they danced to Back to Life from Soul2Real or something...what was his name?Danny? Loved it! Wish they had a web site!

My co-workers and I were just talking about Dance Party USA and Bob Catalano!!! I did a search on the internet for his name and I ended up at this web-site. I used to looooove him. I have a 2 video tapes filled with shows, including the one where Bob takes his sunglasses off!!! Does anyone remember Brett? He had blonde really spiky hair. Oh the good old days. It`s glad to know that I am not the only who was so crazed over that show!

Hey guys - Im the one who started this CRAZY conversation! I would LOVE to see the episode where Bob takes off his sunglass`s - it was like the clashing of heaven and earth!!! I would pay a lot of money for a copy of that!!!!

I lived for Dance Party USA. I saw the show where Bob took off his shades. He was sooo cute. I wrote one of the producers of the show Yvette Harris and she called me at home OMG, and they gave me a list of songs to choose from, I chose Dude Looks Like A Lady by Aerosmith and they aired my picture. I always dreamed of going but they cancelled the show. I cherish my autographed pictures of Bob and Andy Gury. Did anyone see the Christmas episode where Bob done Whams Last Christmas and Jason helped. That was one of my FAVs. Someone should start a Dance party usa web site.

Did you know that Kelly Ripa was on the orginal show Dancin on Air on channel 17... I was on the show when they had it taped on the Ocean City boardwalk... Pretty poison played "catch me I`m falling" and I danced with Jim White (the one with the long hair).... Ahhhh the 80`s

I remember watching this show every day after school. Princess was my favorite and there was a girl named Holly that I had a crush on. I even ended up getting a Dance Party USA poster with the cast in prom attire (which I found in a recent move!) I wish these shows would be rerun. One neat thing--I met these two girls on New Years who attened the same university as Princess. They said she came to their dorm room and asked to borrow their tv as she had a freind who was going to be on a soap opera. Turns out it was Kelly Rippa`s debut on All My Children!

There really should be some sort of official site. By the way, has anyone been successful in finding/purchasing any old tapes? i checked out ebay, but i couldn`t find anything-i was probably too late. Keep me/us posted...

I too was a huge Dance Party USA fan. I started watching it summer of `86 and immediately got hooked. My favorite regular was Michael Inglese. He wasn`t on the show past 1986. I missed him so much after he left but I still continued to watch the show religiously. I even talked my parents into driving my friend and I down to Philly to be on the show twice. I used to tape every episode. I had this little journal of what happened on each show...boy what a geek.! Unfortunately during a move I lost all of my tapes. I also lost my most precious thing I owned, an autographed picture of Michael. Well, it was great to find this site and I am pleased that so many people can admit to loving the show. Keep on dancing!

Hey everyone! I loooved that show too! I have TONS of tapes form the show. I was IN LOVE with Chris Tully, anyone remeber him? I used to tape it everyday!! I was in LOVE with Chris Tulley!! He was SOOOO cute. I would cry if I missed it. I was on it in 90 in Ocean City when they had the Flip magazine. I would love to see what Chris Tulley is doing.

I saw an episode of A Makeover Story on TLC and Ed Tully was working at Hugo Boss in PA and was helping these ladies find some new outfits. He looks just the same!

Okay, i know this is going to sound so stupid, but i loved christopher and i can`t remember his last name, but i think he was maybe dating aubry. It was a little bit later on in the show and i remember he had combat boots that had skulls on the toe and i think he had like, a shaved head with bangs, kinda skater-ish...does anyone remember what his last name was and what he is doing?

OMG --- I wish I saw that episode with Ed Tully on there !!! I used to be in love with Chris Tully, too !!! I actually got his phone number somehow back then, and i used to crank him all the time !!!!! I also used to be in love with Eddie Camacho, Marisol`s brother !!!! That was around `90 when i was on there !!! I thought I was so cool !!! I would have gave my right eye to have been a "regular" back then !!!!

Ohh yeah, I remember all of them! As a matter of fact, if you go to the website and join the Yahoo Group "Dance Party USA", Keri is a member on there, along with some of the others like Alvin AKA `Spicy`, (who is my sweetie!), and Heather Hunsberger. Oh yeah, and Ed O`Neil is on there too, if anyone remebers him. Keri and Ed have recent pics of themselves posted on it. It`s pretty cool!

Yes, you CAN still write to that address! The company is now called Omni...but it`s the same address. January 2002 I met up with Mitch, Ed & Aly in Philly...and they showed me the studios where the show were taped and Aly drove me by the infamous Cooper Street building :) As a side note, if any of you decide to join the Yahoo Email Group, please know that the List Owner or the list Moderators have to "approve" your membership, so it may take a day or 2...please be patient! Hi again. I must confess. I could not take it any longer! All of your messages have put me in such the Dance Party USA mood!! Yesterday, Sunday, I watched 5 hours straight, commercial free, of Dance Party USA. IT WAS WONDERFUL!!!!! I must correct something I had written earlier. After further viewing, Bob took his sunglasses off to Father Figure not Careless Whisper. How could I have made such a tragic mistake!! : ) Can I admit that yestereday, I hit rewind about 5 times on the Bob taking the sunglasses off part? Other cute guys that I was in love with but forgot all about until yesterday: Brett - the cute blonde spiky hair boy. I forgot how much I loved him!!! He was in love with this cute blonde spiky hair girl named Karen though. Mike- What a cutie and how that boy could dance! Matt- He used to dance with Michelle (she had a twin named Natalie on the show who used to dance with John). Scott- he looked like Elroy from the Jetsons and went out with Lilian (the cute tall girl that loved Madonna). Jason- how cute was he and so in love with Christine!!! Oh the memories!!!

Nicole, you were correct! Bob DID deshade to "Careless Whisper" one year, I have it on tape. I believe he picked a different George Michael song each year. :-)

Loved the show so much that i have about 50 tapes of the show. Have put them away in storage. After reading everyone`s post might get them out and make a list of shows that i have. It`s so funny that other people still remember that show and liked it as much as I did. I got tickets to go on the show but never made it there :(

I have one tape of Dance Party. It has Chris Tully doing the "Lightening Lipsync" to Al B Sure`s "If I`m not Your Lover" with his brother Ed-D at the beach. Anybody remember an Italian guy named Tommy, he used to go out w/Susie and he hung around w/Sal and Ralph. I had a crush on Tommy. Remember Sizzl too?

I`m planning an 80`s party for my 30th birthday. I love the 80s and never truly left them, but in my planning I have to admit, I feel like I`m back there with my stonewashed jeans and jelly bracelets. (Yes, i wore them, and I`m proud, lol) Dance Party was easily my favorite show. I can`t believe I don`t have any of them on tape, but I would absolutely LOVE to have some copies to show at my party. I`ve seen some people in this thread have tapes, and some have requested tapes, but I haven`t seen anyone actually offering copies. I would be happy to pay for the copies and the shipping if someone is willing to make them for me. I`m gonna check the yahoo group, too. I can`t wait to hear what everyone`s up to now. In `87 and `88 and a bit of `89 before they changed the taping schedule and location. We first went on as something
Different to do when a friend from TX visited. It got around that the 3 of us had gone to London to see Wham!`s final
Concert, that`s how we met the girl from TX, and Bob and Jason came right up and wanted to know about it.

But it was cool that`s where our show crew came from. My sister and I hung out with Bob, Jason, Christine, Joe, and
Marlon. We used to have the most fun when we would get sent to "Mr Exit Sign". (when you were asked to leave the
Dance floor for some reason). It was such a blast. I miss it.

I have been searching and searching for information on Dance Party USA! I`m so glad I came across this page. I loved that show so much. I watched from 1989-1991 and I watched it everyday religously. I remember one time we were having our carpet cleaned and when the cleaning people arrived I told them that they`d have to wait until Dance Party went off before they could clean the family room! I loved Dance Party for so many reasons and the main two being that they played great dance music and the second being that they had great musical guests like New Kids on the Block and Cathy Dennis. Plus the regulars were great too! I wished I lived in Philly just so I could be a regular. I regret that I never purchased that Dance Party USA Magazine that they sold in stores for a while. Anyone have any copies of that?

When is there going to be an official Dance Party USA website? And also, has anyone gotten in contact with Michael Nise (Shadow) to see if maybe he and the other regulars would be interested in having a reunion special air on the USA Network? I really think that would generate a lot of ratings for the network because I was so surprised that so many other people enjoyed the show as much as I did.

I really think Michael Nise should also consider putting out a Dance Party USA greatest moments DVD/VHS for all of us to puchase! That would be so great and it could show the artists performances, cast info, behind the scenes of Dance Party, as well a few full episodes of the show. I think many fans would be interested in purchasing something like this, especially since there are so many fans who want copies of old episodes!

Hi everyone, I was suprised to see all these people remembering DPUSA. It was really cool going through the messages and even seeing someone remember me. I wanted to let you all know that Bobby and I are separated, but we are still good friends. He is in Kuwait right now waiting to Iraq. He was in the Marines for six years, then became a Baltimore police officer. He is now int he Army Reserves. Wish him luck please. I am doing some acting. I am in the Philadelphia Children`s Theater`s production of Sewart Little, and I also perform monthly in Philadelphia at the 5-Spot Peek-A-Boo Revue show every first Sat. Of the month, so come check it out. I also ran into Romeo the other day on South St. He looks great! He has his own DJ company that is doing very well. Romeo and Jimmy Jam work together. Jimmy grew up to be so handsome...I can`t even begin to tell you. That`s it I guess. Thanks for remembering the show.
