SUPER SWEET 16 IF YOU`RE NOT FILTHY RICH!
I`m collecting stories of real life girls whose daddies are not Donald Trump or some other rich, rich guy. But who are real cool girls having real cool Sweet 16 parties and deserve to be famous just for that! I`ll make sure people hear about you too.

My name is vanessa. I live in ohio. I want to have a sweet 16 party that me and my friends will be able to remember! the only problem is that my family doesnt have any money to do anything. Both my parents are currently unemployed, and i was wondering if you might have some cheap fun ideas, that i can do, and will be remembered! because all of my friends for their sweet 16`s they rentaed a hall and everything. How there parents could afford it is amazing. And i just feel that my will be nowhere near as close to memeorable and fun as theirs. If you could help with some ideas,or anything, i`d really appriciate it! thanks! my email is:

I have already got the basics of the party planned.
Im having a party in my backyard in our gazibo we have. Since it is going to be at night i am going to get fairy lights strung randomly all over the celing of the gazibo so we have a dimmed light source. From the back door of the house to the entrance of the gazibo im having tiki tources along the sides of the path joined together with more fairy lights. Out further in the yard im having tealights in glasses (to prevent accidents) on the floor to have a fairy tale type of effect. In the inside of the gazibo is going to be lined with chairs, drop sheets on the floor so no one has to stand on dirt/lawn, in the center of the gazibo strips of streamers stuck to the celing left loose so they hung to the floor. Balloons in my favourite colours left to float around on the floor as they like. A table in the corner with my stereo for music and food. We have a large plastic box which im going to put a black garbage bag in (stop leaks) filled with ice and drinks. On one of the walls im having a blank canvas with perment textures so people can sign and write comments.
For invitations i am going to go to a craft store and buy loads of beads and ribbions and make basic necklaces. On the necklaces are going to be a tag with all the info about the party like time and such, which they can just rip of and use them as normal necklaces. The colour of the beads they have to wear some thing visible to the party such as nail polish, hair ties,a shirt or what ever they choose so it will be more interesting to get ready for the party.
There is also so other stuff i have already planned but this is just the jist of it.

Can`t afford to rent a hall? See if you can`t get mom, dad, relatives, etc. To help deck you place out - whether it is a basement or a backyard, you can do a lot with white lights and coloured plates/glasses.
Get some relatives to volunteer to cook/cater and have cousins, etc. Serve the food. Get them to get dressed up and have them play the part of waiter/waitress, etc.
Get really creative with the drinks you serve. The grocery stores have awesome strawberry daiquiry/pina coloda mixes that you don`t need to put alcohol in. People are impressed with cool looking drinks - check the web for "mocktails" - I`m sure there will be a ton of ideas.
Spin some tunes - if you or a friend has an IPod, you have an entertainment system. Pick YOUR favourite songs and songs you know your friends will be excited to hear.
You can pick a theme and ask your friends to dress to the theme - could be formal, masquerade, hawaian/luau, etc. Whatever you do - keep the decor for the party the same.
Invites can be made on the PC - google images is a great source of photos and if you don` t have a colour printer, head to Kinko`s.
When you get everyone involved, it creates a lot of buzz - because people feel a part of it.
It is an idea - it is a LOT of work - but you will be SO tight with your family and helpers by the end of it, you`ll feel amazing.
Buy yourself a tiara...even if all you can afford is a dollar store one - you are a princess:)
Have fun.

I plan on hopefully gatting one big tent or 2-3 small one`s that are open and made for the outdoors(like the ones you see set up in target all the time in the home and garden section). It would be sooooo cool if I could get a fire tosser or a hena tatoo artist there, but I`m sooo not that rich, unless they would do it for free. I`m gonna have chiffon and bright colored drapes and inscents everywhere and maybe some candles. There`s gonna be plenty of food, because that`s what they are like. I really want some statues of like elephants or god(esses), it would really add to the effect. I live in aplace that looks are everything, EVERYTHING!!! If you have the wrong back pack people will talk. I need a totally huge party, without the huge price. It could be cool if I could get some sand and a camel(real of fake) fo like pictures and stuff. My sister is having her 18th birthday and it`s a walk on the red carpet theme. She will try to set expectations that she doesn`t think I will reach. Plus her party is 2 weeks before mine!!! I have to beat her in this compition of the siblings because I have to deal with same people going to both of our partys. I don`t want to constatly hear about her party and how mine was soo bad. If anybody has anything, family or close friends connections that would be willing to help out with girl with almost nothing, please email me and thank you sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!
A fello party planner,
Brittney
