WEDDING DATE CHANGED

HI, I HAVE A QUESTION.....I WAS TO GET MARRIED THIS MONTH BUT I CHANGED THE WEDDING DATE TO THE SUMMER FOR SEVERAL GOOD REASONS....I HAD A BRIDAL SHOWER AND RECEIVED SOME MONEY.....ALSO MY GRANDPARENTS SENT ME A GOOD SUM OF MONEY AS A GIFT FOR THE WEDDING EXPENSES.....SINCE THE WEDDING DATE HAS CHANGED DO I HAVE TO RETURN THE MONEY AND TELL THEM TO GIVE IT TO ME WHEN THE DATE APPROACHES (MY GRANDPARENTS) AND RETURN THE MONEY TO THE BRIDAL SHOWER GUESTS AND HAVE ANOTHER BRIDAL SHOWER LATER. WHAT SHOULD I DO?? OR WHAT IS IT THE RIGHT THING TO DO??/

I would suggest keeping the money and NOT having another bridal shower. Make sure you tell everyone that attended your shower that you are changing the wedding date in person, or over the phone. However, if you cancel the wedding, you should offer to give the money/gifts back. Some people will refuse and thats ok, don`t push the money back on them, because that may make them feel as if you were ungratefull. If they want you to keep it, suggest that you will put it in your savings for a future wedding.

But be sure to tell them of the date switch in person or over the phone, That way they know there will be a wedding in the near future. And tell them before you send out the new invitations!
