Something Other Than Wedding Cake??
Neither my husband-to-be nor I like cake but we don`t know what else to have for our wedding dessert. Any ideas!?
Many thanks

The french favorite for weddings, Croquembouche, is a decadent cream puff tower that is beautiful.
Today, couples can order tiers of chocolate-covered strawberries or even wedding pies. Be as creative as you like.

Angie,
Most likely you and your husband wont even remember tasting the cake or food at the reception. Besides, most guest expect a cake and might be dissapointed. I do wedding cakes. I never eat them but I love to look at them. My son is getting married next year. He wanted an old fashioned apple stack cake but my future daughter-in-law wants a spectacular, traditional cake. An apple cake would be eye-catching and it`s easy to make. It should be made a week ahead but must be refrigerated. It`s more like giant sugar cookies with cooked dried apples between the layers. After it sets for a few days in the fridge it becomes moist...but not as moist as cake. Each tier would have 6 layers and the sides aren`t iced. It`s very pretty. The recipe is over 100 years old but it`s a Christmas tradition in our family.
Good luck

Try Cheesecake or maybe even Ice cream Cakes. Or you could just have a dessert buffet with Assorted Cookies,Mini Cakes, Brownies,Muffins, & Biscotti.
Hope this helps Tami
