50th Wedding Aniversary
My parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 9. They want a small barbecue at my home. They were married at my mother`s hom and the menu was barbecue. They want a reception only. Any unique or creative ideas on how to make it a memorable occasion?

Why not a westeran theme, use old boots spray painted fill with wild flowers, cowboy hats decorated with flowers ,ribbon etc.hay bailes, have a check point at the entrance someone in hillbilly garb carrying old muskit or toy cap guns, question each guest before entering.make up a story like little nell and the bad man asign parts to different guests, use hats and bandannas ,cap guns etc.look at book stores for party games find a story and make it fit the theme ,make it funny have guests read there part no advance warning
Pick people that least fit the part and at the end have a moral to the story.i did this at a company christmas party and alot of mixed personalities but it was a real
Fun time for everyone,good luck

Are they renewing their vows? How many of the original bridal party and guests do they still keep in touch with? Do you have old pictures you can recreate the flowers and decorations from the first wedding? Maybe you can surprise them by having them renew their vows...your parents siblings should be a good source for you.
