Maid (Matron) Of Honor

I am wondering if it would be "proper" to have a maid of honor and a "matron" of honor at my wedding. I am very close to my mom, and also a friend of mine. Would this be too weird?? Any input would be helpful, thanks!!

I don`t think that is weird at all. I say do what you want with your wedding. Only follow traditions if it is what you want!! I am having 2 males & 2 females in my wedding party. My brother is my Man of Honor, and I have 3 Bridal Attendants (1 male). Have fun with it! Don`t let anyone tell you what to do or not to do with this kind of stuff...just do what feels right!
