Groom`s Parents

Dear Elizabeth,
Congratulations on your up coming wedding. I gather that you are having a formal wedding. Yes the groom`s father should also be in a tuxedo as he and the groom`s mother are considered part of the wedding party. As to asking the groom`s mother to wear the same thing as the bride`s mother, check with your Mother and see if she is agreeable to this. The brides Mother has first choice of color normally. Then I would suggest that instead of asking your future Mother in law to do that you might want to say instead, "Mom, would you do me the honor of wearing the same color or a complimentary color as my Mother for our wedding?" You are still asking her, but now it won`t come across as a demand. Do try to make the groom`s parents feel included in making this a very special day.
