Proper Etiquette In Addressing Invitations

I would like to know the proper way to address wedding invitations when sending to a Mr & Mrs and family. Also is it proper to tell the invitee that you have so many seats for them at the reception or is that tacky!

How do you address an invitation for the guest or escort of an invited guest when the invited guest has not decide who they will be going with at the time the invitations are issued?

Address it as Mr. And Mrs..Dr. And Mrs.. And you can make an inclosed card to RSVP for amount of seats. Word it as :
RSVP by:______________________
Number attending:________________
Hopes this helps.

I personally wouldn`t include & Family. If they have adult children, I would address an invitation to them as well.
Or.. If you are trying to save on the invites, one way to word the RSVP card is...
________ of 4 guests will be attending, that way - you are placing a maximum number on the amount of guests that are expected.
Believe it or not, when you send invitations addressed & family, you receive an alarming amount of guests with the RSVP.
GOOD LUCK!!
