Wine On Air Auction, November 3 - 4pm - 12Mid
Connecticut Public Television, a PBS affiliate, is a non-profit organization that provides educational and entertainment programming for the state of Connecticut and is holding a Wine On Air auction on November 3rd from 4pm - 12Midnight. We have 7 bottles of various Marilyn Monroe wines, which will be auctioned that evening. The wines include Marilyn Merlot 1986, 87, 90 & 91 as well as 3 bottles of Marilyn Cabernet 1993.
The Marilyn Merlot 1986, 87, 90 & 91 are designed with a sense of humor, each vintage is graced by a classic image of sex-goddess Marilyn Monroe. Wine connoisseurs and fans have established Marilyn Merlot as a collector`s item that is quickly appreciating in value. We see "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" on the 86. All vintages are from Napa Valley except the 87 produced in France and said to be full bodied with great legs. The 90 reveals "How to Marry a Millionaire" and the 91 label was for Chanel. This 4 Bottle set has sold for an excess of $5,000. It`s priceless.
The 3 Bottles of Marilyn Cabernet 1993 are a serious wine that will appeal to wine collectors, art collectors and Marilyn Monroe fans. Very rare, they are appreciating quickly in value. These highly collectibles sell for as much as $1,000 per bottle. The 93 Cab is the first of five vintages with Marilyn`s stunning portrait against a red background. Very limited, only 2,500 of the 93 edition were produced individually-numbered and portraying this extraordinary person.
