Monetary Gifts - My Thoughts
I am getting married on Sat 18 Feb 2006, the biggest headache for me was the wording of my invitations. I dont care what anyone says, but asking for monetary gifts is NOT RUDE! I have been living in Australia for 11 years, my husband to be and I are flying to NZ for our wedding and who wants to get stuck at the airport with gifts that we have to pay excess luggage for when we fly back to Australia as Mr and Mrs?? In our case I believe a monetary gift is not stupid or rude I am still going ahead with my wording for it and its along the lines like this, "ALL GIFTS APPRECIATED, HOWEVER THE BRIDE & GROOM WOULD ALSO GRATEFULLY ACCEPT MONETARY GIFTS AS THEY WILL BE TRAVELLING BACK TO AUSTRALIA" and if I have offended anyone well, they dont have to come do they ?
