A boy/girl party sounds like a lot of fun...for older children. Eleven years old though? Perhaps I am insinuiating too much by the boy/girl theme. Anyway..just keep it casual. They are still so young and boys will be on one side of the hall, girls on the other. Good luck with that. Perhaps your daughter should focus more on building friendships with her girlfriends and save the boy drama for a few years down the road.

If you`r hiring a hall, you might aswell hire a DJ and have a propper party.
Let the kids get involved with the DJ, and let them vote what songs they want for the whole thing.
Allow anyone who wants to sing, sing a song or two.
Basicly its like an open mic.
