Quinceanera

Hello. My daughter is 12 right now and we are talking about having a quinceanera for her 15th birthday. Because my mother did not raise us in the Catholic church, I am wondering how that affects how things are done. Even though her 15th is still a couple years away, I am trying to get things going early so I will have enough time. Does anyone know how to go about planning when the family is not Catholic?

Non-Catholics also have quinceaneras. They`re also regular events in my neighborhood`s protestant churches. If you don`t regularly attend any church maybe you can talk to one of your choice, I`m sure they`ll be glad to help you with the service. If you don`t want a church service then do a google search and look for ideas to create your own celebration. Different latin cultures do quinceaneras in slightly different ways so there`s not one set of rules you must absolutely follow. You can modify it to fit your needs. The important thing is to celebrate your daughter!
