Reception
My husband died last month, we have decided to scale back my daughter`s wedding and have only close family and friends at the wedding then invite everyone else to the reception that will be following the wedding. How do we word invites to people just asked to the reception?

Carolyn,
I am so sorry to hear of your recent loss. Weddings are emotional and stressful, and now I`m sure your helping of both will be doubled.
I coordinated a wedding in September with the exact same circumstances.
Here is how they worded the invites:
Please join us for a reception
Celebrating the marriage of
Jill
And
Jack
Saturday, the ninth of September
Two thousand and five
Seven o`clock in the evening
Wildwood Center for the Performing Arts
Little Rock, Arkansas
You are not required to mention that the ceremony was only an hour before.
For the guests that are invited to both, word the invitations normally, and then add a last line similar to:
Reception immediately following ceremony
Hope this helps!
