Sweet Sixteen Candle Lighting Ceremony
I am planning our Daughter`s Sweet Sixteen party for the end of October being held at a Golf & Country Club with approx. 60 people. I am interested in sourcing a style of Candle Lighting Service ideas for the presentation of her Cake, which I could incorporate with our group of Friends & Family by bringing up special individuals or groups identifying a specific meaning for each of the 16 candles (or symbolic "thing" for each one brought up to light a candle). I`m looking for ideas on verses around all of this. The theme of this party is Candy Land as her name is Candice. Any ideas????

The sweet 16-candle lighting is a ceremony where the birthday girl lights of total of 16 candles. She lights each candle in representation of someone who has made a difference in her life. As she lights each candle she can say who the person is and why they have made a difference in her life (May want to keep each one short, as she does have to mention 16 people) or you can listed the 16 people in her programs. The couples in the ceremony are referred to as “the court of honor”.
After the introduction of each couple in her “court of honor”, the birthday girl walks in with her escort (she should be wearing slippers and should not have on her tiara). As a gift to the audience, the birthday girl along with her court of honor presents 1-2 dance routines; traditionally they dance to one slow song and one fast song. There is a crowning ceremony done by the father and Godfather (or uncle), each will carry a small pillow, one with her tiara and one with her shoes (aka-glass slippers). There should be a chair or swing waiting for her to sit in to make a change from her slippers/sneakers into her shoes/pumps. The father and Godfather (or uncle) will assist in the changing of the shoes, and then they will crown her with the tiara. The father will escort her to the dance floor and present his daughter to the world as a young woman, who will then share in a father/daughter dance. After the father/daughter dance is the candle lighting ceremony.
The audience sings happy birthday to the birthday girl …. Then the party begins!
Open dance floor and food/drinks for everyone. Hopes this helps…

Each of the 17 candles have a meaning. The first candle is for your parents, the second candle is for your siblings if you have any if not then grandparents. Now candle
3 to 6 is for the rest of your family.
7-14 is for your friends.
15 is your best friend(s)
16 is the guy that is always there for you, usually a boyfriend or your best guy friend. And
17 is inspiration or luck candle.

I am doing a Candle Lighting Ceremony at my Sweet Sixteen Party. Here is how I am going to have it...
1.) I will have the candles on the stage and before we eat I will do this ceremony.
2.) I will chose 16 people who have had a huge impact on my life. Like Parents, Siblings, Grandpartents, Firends, etc.
3.) I will say something about each person as they walk onto the stage and light the candle. ***Remember to keep it short. People will loose intrest***
4.) This is optional: I am going to put each persons picture on the stage and as i tell why i chose this person, their picture will show up on the screen behind me.
