Hey! .. I`m from louisiana and have been mulling over some cajun ideas myself. One way to make your reception cajun would be to spice up the food. The cajun way is all about good food, good friends and good drink. I`m considering giving pralines as favors (with a copy of the recipie on a little tag) .. Encorporate good cajun foods like etoufee, jambalaya, and hushpuppies into the dinner menu.. (even if you pair it with more sophisticated foods.. ). You might also look into some of the cajun or french wedding traditions.. Do a search for these on the internet or look at some books. I came across a book of international wedding traditions at barnes and noble and looked up france. Apparently in the french countryside it was customary for the groom to pick up the bride at her house and walk together to the church. Along the way they were stopped by white ribbons held by children blocking their path.. And they carried with them a pair of scissors to cut through these ribbons along the way.. Symbolizing the obstacles they`d overcome together. Maybe you could encorporate a peice of this tradition by having children cross your path with white ribbons when you make your escape (instead of throwing rice??). Hire a cool zydaco band to play at your reception.. How cool would that be??

I looked up cajun weddings and ran across this site...www.victoriainn.com check out packages... They offer cajun weddings. They mentioned "jumping over the broom " as a cajun tradition.
Depending on where you want to have one, a crab boil is a must for the reception. Along with the band mentioned earlier. Most of all make it fun!
