JUST A QUESTION???

I am a national competitive bartender (yes, like the movie cocktail).

Why don`t any weddings have any real good bartenders performing at them. It seems that everyone pays all this money on mediocre DJ`s and caterers but never thinks about the bar...where the party really begins and ends?

Anyone have any ideas about this?

Maybe they would rather have non-alcoholic fun because alcohol is more expensive and encourages the party to get out of hand sometimes. Just a thought.

Mike, you might try meeting with the wedding and party planners in your area. They`ll give you more opportunities to "sell" your service, rather than trying to do it on your own.

I agree with kim, i think usually they come with the place or catering. But i also think that there is so much going on during the wedding reception, and all the attention is towards the bride and the groom, if they got a performing bartender, it might take away the attention towards the bride and the groom, and it is their day and they really should get the attention and not the performing bartender, plus don`t want people to get too drunk maybe. That is just my opinion as a future bride
Thanks! :)

Just a suggestion,

Do you have any friends that do this also, ask them if they`d help you out, maybe you could pay them within reason.

Another suggestion, since you can`t seem to find anyone who does this, maybe you should consider starting your own business doing this for special events, I bet you`d get huge responses and you`d have your own niche in the special event market, as it is a sort of entertainment and you`d also be providing a service.
