How about wreaths? You can make them out of real or silk flowers.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies. However, my church doesn`t allow candles on the pews. We`re having an afternoon ceremony and I need simple, yet elegant.

What about heart shaped floral pieces made up of carnations or another type of flower and hung by ribbon. Or...have wreaths made with greens and a small floral spray on it and hung and swagged with tulling down the aisle.

If you need any other suggestions give me an e-mail
Good luck!

Dig out your christmas decorations. We used all white mini christmas lights ... If a winter wedding, you can use evergreen boughs all over the place ... I love tulle ... Bought two bolts on eBay .... Wrapped the tulle around the christmas lights and secured it in place every two feet or so using twist ties ... Lots of uses for this stuff!
Make paper cones using whatever paper you have on hand ... Tape into shape ... Fill with whatever plant materials you can gather around ... Hang these on sides of pews (if you can ~ some churces will allow masking tape or sticky stuff ... Some won`t)
Go to the library or book store and curl up with wedding books ... Soak up the ideas especially in the bargain bride books ...
Good luck

I plan on incorporationg my congregation`s help with the use of pew cones. I don`t have a flower girl so instead I plan to hang cones filled with petals every few pews and the person sitting in the aisle seat with the cone will empty its contents as I`m walking down the aisle. I think it`ll work nicely with the pictures. Plus, I don`t have a whole lot of room to work with because the aisle is only 5 feet wide and my dress takes up three! This way we`re still decorating the pews but we`re not sacraficing space or money! Hope this helps a little.

Tulle is very inexpensive. You can buy lots of tulle at any fabric store VERY cheaply.

Tired of seeing the same old pew bows in church weddings? Try a fun and inexpensive way to decorate the pews that you will not see everyday. Decorate Styrofoam balls. You can get these at places like Joann’s in many different sizes and shapes. Paint these balls with a shimmering paint (Satin paint, Metallic paint etc) to coordinate with your wedding colors and let them hang like little loves knots.
