Where Is A Wedding Supposed To Take Place?
I am planning to get married next june but there`s a bit of a controversy. My fiance is catholic and i`m protestant. He says we have to wed in his church but i am of the opinion that a wedding is supposed to take place in the bride`s church. Right now we are at a bit of loggerheads cause we can`t decide and we have actually had to postpone discussions on venue. Please could anyone tell me what the norm is? is the wedding supposed to hold in the bride`s or groom`s church?

Weddings are not as traditional these days. Since you can`t come to a happy medium of where the wedding should take place, conside a banquet facility such as country club, hotel, etc. During the ceremony you can incorporate both religions.

Since you can`t agree wher to have it, maybe you shouldn`t have it in either church, try something less traditional

I think that the best thing to do to respond to this kind of post is not to reply at all.

Ama,
I do not have a solution for you all that I can say is keep talking with your fiance and I am sure you can work things out. Maybe an alternative location would be a better idea.

Thanks ever so much, Sandie. We`ve actually resolved it. We decided to go traditional and do it in the bride`s church, which is my church. So after the wedding, I start worshipping as a Catholic. Thanks everybody for your advice.
