Who Throw`s The Engagement Party?

It is perfectly fine for the couple to throw their own engagement party......especially if it is the bride`s second time around. It is custom for the father of the bride to throw the party, however it is not "bad etiquette" if the couple throw their own party. It is particularly important to throw your own party if you want it done your way.
