Hawiian Wedding
Im planning a Hawiian themed wedding for June in Arizona. And my Fiancee and I were wondering what could we serve for the dinner that is "hawiian"?? we thought about a roasted pig like you see in movies, but i realized that, thats not a reasonable thing to do, and i dont think i could stomach seeing a pig like that. Any suggestions would be extremly helpful....

For the liqure we are just doing beer and wine but i`m going to make ahead some mixed drinks like mai tai`s, rum punch, and ect..

I used to live in Hawaii as a child and I can tell you that you can`t go wrong if you serve Huli Huli chicken, Kahlua pork (pulled or shredded pork meat cooked in an oven with salt and liquid smoke--this does not involve the Kahlua liquor), or a glazed ham decorated with pinapple slices and cherries. My spelling should be correct, and you can find these recipes on the internet. Main dishes are lovely when served on a platter covered in romain lettuce leaves (when banana leaves are not available). Hawaii has a polynesian culture, so its dishes include fish, rice, coconut, bananas, etc. For rolls, consider King`s Hawaiian bread--available at most Wal-marts near the deli or hot food counter. It is packaged in an orange plastic bag.

Hey! my fiance and i are also having a hawiian themed wedding. So far all i know is that we are going to serve kabobs, pineapple upside down cake, and lots of colorful punch! that has tons of very good priced luau party decorations.
