Chocolate And Pink Color Scheme

I am thinking of using chocolate brown and pink as the colors for my wedding (Nov. 2005). Has anyone seen this before? Have you come across any pictures online? Any suggestions??

I have seen these colors before and I think they are beautiful together. I love the color brown. It could make anything look rich and elegant. I think any pastel color will go perfectly. It`s like the other "black".

I got my invitations at mygatsby.com. They are chocolate, hot pink and pale pink. They have a lot of different styles and color choices. Mine ended up being a little more than I wanted to spend but I really wanted the 3 colors and double envelopes. They were $500. You have to check out the custom section and order samples, you get cardstock smaples of every color.

Paperaffair.com has a nice pink and brown invitation. We used it for our wedding and it was more beautiful when we got it then the picture on the internet. They also have the reply cards too. Very inexpensive. Also our table linens were brown with Pink rosepedals scattered around brown centerpiece containers. Light pink Peonies are nice for the pink in the centerpeices. I also used pink ribbon wherever I could. My bouquet though was the most beautiful. It was light pink roses with orchids. In the center of the orchid it gives off the look of brown if you get the right ones and with brown and pink ribbon around the bouquet handle its just awesome. You can also use chocolate as your favor and just add pink ribbon in some way. Good luck!

You can have white flowers dyed, but the naturally occuring brown species i know of is chocolate cosmos, have you given any thought of using wheat as an add in? you can also use a brown ribbon to tie together your bouquet.

Thank you everyone on the ideas with the pink and brown. My wedding is in 2006 and i`m still looking for inexpensive centerpieces - any ideas? something with candles?

I was going to do pink and brown for my colors last year. We moved the wedding to this July for $ reasons and now I am doing chocolate brown and olive green. There are a few people that asked about incorporating brown into the bouquet and a few asking about invitations. There are contemporary styled invitations out there with pink and brown but they are all (as far as I found) pretty pricey. I am making my own invitations from just cardstock paper from my local scrapbooking shop. The wording will just be printed off my computer at home. Any scrapbooking place should have a swatchbook of a multitude of colors to choose from. Even the retro theme colors!! (I`d say that will be your best bet to get those three colors together) Not to mention that the employees love to scrapbook and often times are very creative when it comes to making things look cute and individual. They will most often times have catalogs in them with templates for invitations or cards. Ask around. I was in the same pickle trying to find invitations in my scheme. This is a lot cheaper and will be customized just how i want it!!
About the flowers, there are actually roses now that they have bred to look sort of brown. They are called chocolate roses. There are also chocolate cosmos. Both flowers are slightly maroon looking so they may not go too good against a brown dress but if you have a pink dress, they would look pretty. These would also look very pretty against your white or ivory gown incorporated into your boquet. Other than those two flowers (look at them because they may be too red to go good with pink) there isn`t much option. I say just do a chocolate brown ribbon or ask a florist about accents. I`ve been planning my wedding for nearly two years and have looked everywhere for things like this! It`s hard with these non-traditional schemes but very pretty when they pull together!

I had brown, pink and white as my wedding colors and couldn`t find any invitations for my theme. I was referred to All Yours Invitations. They do custom, handmade wedding invitations and I got to work with a designer to get my invitations exactly how I wanted them to look. If you are still looking for invites, I recommend them- www.AllYoursInvitations.com
Congratulations!

There are flowers called chocolate cosmos but they too are a little red. I am getting married July 29, 2006 and my colors are chocolate brown and olive green. I was going to do pink when i first got engaged 2 years ago but now it has turned into something that is common and I wanted to be very original. I have, however, been looking for brown flowers. My flowers are the brown calla lily (has a tannish orange color to it), the chocolate rose (orangish red) and the hydrangea in green. Since my other color is an earthtone too I can get away with using flowers in earthtones. Those who choose pink as the other color are pretty limited. When i was still doing pink, i talked to several florists and all of them reccommended that i do a pink and white for the flowers with a tiny bit of green accent and use a chocolate brown ribbon or some fake brown colored accents in the bouquet. Look at your local craft store in the floral section. There should still be some fall colored items on closeout prices from Thanksgiving. The brown orchid is still a little red toned with white on the outside. The ones that are truly brown in the inside have an orangish outside. Good luck!!
