Help Cheap Reception Ideas!

Please help! Last April my husband and I refinanced our home to have a beautiful wedding with all our friends and family. Then out of nowhere my mother passed away in May which totally devastated me. Our wedding was set for Dec 05 but she was a major part of my wedding and at first I just called it off because I am afraid a moment like that would be to sad without her here to help me. She was actually going to be the one to walk me down the aisle. But most of our money from the house went to pay for her funeral. Now with comfort from friends and family. I know she is here with me and she still wants me to have this wedding but we can`t afford the reception that we had planned. Any ideas for a hall or anything really reasonably priced in las Vegas that we can dance and eat and everything else that includes a reception.

Try the Henderson Convention Center. Its only 15 minutes from the strip. Its very nice and is really really cheap.

Look for a historic location or a park/public location... You can often get a site for 0-$100. Call local trade schools/highscools/universities and find some one to do your cake and catering at a fraction of the cost. Forgo hard drinks... People will understand ad you will save a mint. Or buy for a dicount liquor store that will accept returns of any unopened items. Find a photography student to do your photos (possibly for free if you let them use your pictures for their portfolio.) Order your flowers from an online distributer like jrroses.com and then just get glass vases from the dollar store - tie a few stems together with ribbon and voila you have bridesmaids bouquets that become your center peices. Bake cookies or brownies and wrap them with a tag ("sweets for the sweet" "thanks for enjoying this sweet moment" or just thank You and your date) and use these as your favors-if you aren`t a great cook there are lots of mixes out there! I hope these ideas help a little. Good luck, and I know your mom will be closer to you than ever on your special day.
