Baby Shower For Out Of Town Mom

My daughters aunts are making her a baby shower. The mother is from out of state and will be flying down for the shower. The hostesses want guests to bring gift cards and monetary gifts instead of gifts since she is flying. HOw can they word that on the invitation without sounding rude. We also do not know if the baby is a boy or girl, the new parents want to be surprised.

I am hoping you had good luck with this, I see it was posted a while back. I actually had the same question...My sister is throwing me a shower in NY and I currently live in FL....Was wondering how you handled this in your invitations?? Thank you!
