THINK TWICE BEFORE BASHING DAVIDS BRIDAL

For all of you out there bashing Davids Bridal think again. I am a bridemaid and the bride got engaged in September of 05 and is getting married in November of 05. Her gown was ordered at Davids Bridal and in store to pick up in 2 weeks. The bridesmaids on the other hand went to Normans in Lebanon MO to try on dresses. We picked out a style that we liked and said that we would call to order them if we did not find anything else. That was on a Saturday, that following Monday the consultant that had helped us ordered them and did not tell us until that Wednesday. We had found dresses at Davids Bridal that same day. They were cheaper and fit us so there would be no alterations. But the cosultant at Normans had already ordered the 2 of us dresses that were 2 sizes to big. When we called to ask if we could cancel the order that had been placed 3 days before at Normans they told us no because they would never be able to sell dresses in that big of a size (16 and 18 we both wear a 12). They also said that they didn`t have time to cancel because the dresses had already been shipped out. Now my point is that if it takes 12 weeks to get a dress then why can you not cancel an order 3 days after placement because it doesn`t take 12 weeks to run a truck accross the US. So for the girl who had a great experience with Normans I am happy for you but for anyone else thinking of going there read this also. I hope all of you have a great big day and that dress shopping gets better for you. I have been married for 5 1/2 years (I elloped, no dress involved) and have 2 kids, it is great. Thank you for your time. All of us need to gripe once in a while.
