Mother Of The Groom
Hi,
I`m the mother of the groom. The couple is getting married October 22nd (autumn). The mother of the bride is wearing periwinkle blue - do I try and coordinate with her colour or wear what is suited to me? I`m an obese woman, so trying to get clothes that compliment my figure is like trying to fit an egg into a eardrum (dumb way of putting it). Here`s my dilemma. I bought a black chiffon handerchief skirt, which, as much as it can, compliments my huge body. The top is mauve chiffon, which is quite nice. I`m thinking of getting a chiffon shawl to wear with it. But I don`t think it`s elegant enough for my son`s wedding. I have my eye on another top - it`s like a velvet and a mix of autumn colours (rusty orange, red, brown, yellow, black) with small dangling beads at the bottom. I have red hair and a beautiful tan and hazel eyes. Do you think I should go with the mauve top to compliment the periwinkle blue her mother is wearing, or go with the autumn colours that match my complexion and hair? I`m at wits end and I keep jumping from store to store looking for something better than I have. I have to stop doing that or I`m going to be so stressed when the wedding finally arrives.
Thanks for your assistance.
